Athens Academy was awarded the honor of best private school and the best preschool in Athens from the Athens Banner-Herald 2023-2024 Choice Awards last year. This shows how our excellent faculty and great community help to strengthen the school as a whole.

You already attend Athens Academy, but how much do you know about it? Athens Academy is a great school and can help you learn a wide range of things, better than the vast majority of schools.

Athens Academy, created as a private school on September 6th, 1967, goals were to establish higher academic standards for its 900+ students and get its students ready for college, according to the Athens Academy website.

Athens Academy offers some of the highest quality education in Georgia. From 2018-2023, Athens Academy has been a National Blue Ribbon Exemplary High Performing School, an accomplishment displayed on a banner in the lower school cafeteria.

Athens Academy offers many fine arts programs like drama, art, and music. These help students creatively and abstractly express themselves in a fun and safe environment.

Students at Athens Academy love participating in all the sports offered: football, basketball, baseball, track and field, cross country, tennis, cheerleading, swimming/diving, golf, wrestling, soccer, and volleyball.

Kevin Petroski quotes, “The Athens Academy athletic department continues to follow and support its student-athletes who carry on with their athletic passion while striving to earn a college degree. Once a Spartan, always a Spartan!”

However, many students also participate in the fine arts: drama, art, and music. As Edward, a second grader says, “He loves ACAD for the science lab and the strings program.”

Athens Academy offers so many activities your child could want, from strings to athletics. Athens Academy can help nurture children’s abilities and strengths. Next spring, be prepared to vote again for the Athens Choice Awards.
