The middle school girls’ basketball season is off to a great start. There is a green and white team. On the green team, there are 7 eighth graders and 3 seventh graders. They practice every day after school for one hour, and they have games once or twice a week.
For 7th grader Sidney Harding, her love for the sport began when she was just three years old when her dad signed her up for a small team. Ever since she has played every year. She continues to play because it’s a part of her, and it is what she loves to do. She is motivated by her love for the game. Steph Curry inspires her to become a better player and stealing the ball is one of her favorite parts.
Recently, she has been working on improving her shooting form which is something that she struggles with. Before the games, the team has a chant that they do every time. Her fuel choice is pasta and candy. In the future, she hopes to play in high school and maybe even college. The team is doing great this season and will continue their season and are hoping to continue winning.
