October 18, 2024 was a momentous occasion for the seventh graders at Athens Academy. It was their first dance! Many seventh graders had a splendid time dancing with their friends, and maybe even a special someone. There was a photo booth that was a big hit! Many students struck silly photos, made funny faces, and took so many awesome photos with all of their friends. The music was on point with most of it chosen by the students themselves.
The dinner before the dance for the girls was at Margaret Garrard’s house while the boys’ dinner was at Hunter Lunceford’s house. The theme was USA, and there was a lot of red, white, and blue going on. There were refreshments at the dance that many enjoyed, especially the soda. Some students were extremely happy to see that there was some candy available..
One seventh grader, Brooke McClendon had this to say about the dance, “My favorite part of the dance was dancing. My favorite song that they played was, “Pose for Me,” by Natalie Nunn.” The seventh graders are looking forward to the formal dance that comes later in the year, and let’s just say, everybody is going to be all dressed up!
