An estimated 1.24 million people are diagnosed with blood cancer every year. While there is no current cure for some of these cancers, medical research is making breakthroughs in cancer treatment and you can help them.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) is a non-profit organization that raises money for blood cancer research. Senior Carter Mundy and Junior Read Johnson lead the LLS club. The club strives to raise as much money as possible to help the fight against blood cancer.
The club had humble beginnings. When she first joined, Mundy remembers that there were few members. Despite the club’s small size, the members has plenty of passion and drive. This year, so far, the LLS club has raised over $8,000, but with your help, they can raise more.
Raising money is easier than you think. On the LLS website, you can create a donor drive. On your social media page, you can share the link to your donor drive. This way, your drive can be shared with multiple people at once. If you don’t have any social media platforms, you can share your drive with your family and friends. Even though it might be awkward, many people are willing to help because they feel connected to the cause.
